Welcome to our outdoor nature school, where we are privileged to steward an acre and a quarter of enchanting land in unincorporated Graham. Our grounds are a vibrant tapestry of natural beauty, featuring a small seasonal stream that meanders gracefully through the property, creating a dynamic and ever-changing landscape. This stream, coupled with a fascinating mud zone, provides endless opportunities for hands-on exploration and learning about aquatic ecosystems, soil composition, and the importance of water in our environment. The land is adorned with a rich variety of native trees, offering shade, shelter, and a living classroom for studying local flora and fauna. These trees not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of our school but also play a crucial role in supporting the diverse wildlife that calls our land home.
In addition to the native trees, our property boasts a delightful assortment of fruit trees, which serve as a practical resource for teaching about sustainable agriculture and the life cycle of plants. Students have the unique opportunity to observe the growth, flowering, and fruiting stages of these trees, gaining a deep appreciation for the natural processes that sustain us. Our 800 square foot gardening space is a cornerstone of our educational programs, where students can get their hands dirty planting, tending, and harvesting a variety of vegetables and herbs. This garden is not just a place of productivity but a living laboratory where lessons in biology, ecology, and nutrition come to life. Together, these elements create a rich, immersive learning environment that fosters a profound connection to nature and a lifelong passion for environmental stewardship.
